Robert Wright, FASID
principal and co-founder
Robert Wright, FASID is principal and co-founder of McCormick & Wright. He is a true advocate for the profession and interior design education and realizes interior design contributes significantly towards the quality and well being of our lives. Robert was honored by San Diego Magazine by awarding him as recipient of “Who’s Hot? 50 San Diegans to Watch in 2005.” He is a Fellow of the American Society of Interior Designers and served as the Society’s National President in 2005-2006, and he served for six years on the board of CIDA, the Council for Interior Design Accreditation. Robert was the recipient of the 2013 ASID Designer of Distinction Award. This award is the highest national award presented to an ASID member acknowledging one’s career, body of work, and contribution to the interior design profession. Robert enjoys the arts, music, and culture that San Diego has to offer and spending time at his desert weekend home.
Kellie McCormick, ASID
Kellie McCormick, ASID , senior designer at Bast/Wright Interiors for many years, is now Principal at McCormick & Wright. She is the creative force behind many of their award winning projects and published work. Kellie recognizes that every client has unique design concerns and enjoys working with them to develop solutions that fit their needs. Kellie served on the Board of Directors for ASID San Diego as Communications Director and as President. Kellie has also served as Chair of the ASID National Brand Council. For several years, Kellie was an interior design lecturer at alma mater, San Diego State University. In her spare time Kellie enjoys spending time outdoors as well as planting and harvesting lots of fresh vegetables in her urban garden.
Jan Bast, FASID
Jan Bast is a co-founder of Bast/Wright Interiors, now McCormick & Wright. She retired from the firm in 2001 to focus on interior design education at Design Institute of San Diego. In 2010, she returned to McCormick & Wright in a part-time administrative position. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Interior Designers. She has served as president of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification, and currently volunteers as a site visitor for CIDA, The Council for Interior Design Accreditation. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, especially cruises.
Jason York, ASID, LEED AP
Senior Interior Designer
Jason York, ASID, LEED AP, is a graduate of the Art Institute of Houston. He began his career working with many of the top designers of Houston on high-end residential projects. Jason moved to San Diego to further his career, and what he found was an inspiring and creative community with a strong friendship with design and art. His passion for design and the built environment propels him to reach new heights – and his attention to detail is impeccable. His exquisite designs can be seen on several of the projects highlighted on our website’s portfolio pages. Those projects include the La Jolla Shores Residence, Fairbanks Ranch Residence, Downtown Condo, Boston Condo, and the Kensington Residence. Outside the design studio, Jason enjoys exploring Southern California’s beaches, mountains, and deserts.
Kate Lindberg, ASID
Senior Interior Designer
Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Kate Lindberg, ASID, has been exposed to diverse cultures and various forms of art. With a passion for design, she moved to San Diego to attend the art program at San Diego State University. Upon graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Art, emphasis Interior Design, she started with Bast/Wright Interiors, now McCormick & Wright, as an interior designer. Kate’s fine eye for design shines through on several of the projects featured on our website’s portfolio pages. Those projects include the Fairbanks Ranch Residence, Coronado Shores Condo, La Jolla Shores Residence, and Oahu North Shore.
Kate thrives in a team-oriented environment, seeks inspiration from travel and nature, and enjoys the many facets of art and design. Kate’s creativity continues with her interests in fashion and time spent with her cooking club.
Michael Rohey, Allied ASID
Michael Rohey, Allied ASID, is a graduate of The New York School of Interior Design. After having spent several years in New York City working on high-end residential projects, he came to San Diego on vacation. After falling in love with the city, he canceled his return ticket and decided to stay – and we are glad he did. Michael is immersing himself in the San Diego art and design scene, and is thrilled to be a part of the McCormick & Wright team. On the weekend, Michael enjoys spending time at the beach with his German Shepherd, Bibi.
Gabrielle Shank, Allied ASID
With a lifelong passion and love for both design and California, Gabrielle Liljedahl, Allied ASID, left her home State of Iowa to study Interior Design at San Diego State University. After interning for McCormick and Wright and upon graduation, she happily accepted a position as an interior designer. Gabrielle is excited to work with and learn from an exceptional team of designers. In her free time, Gabrielle enjoys floral design, traveling, spending time at the beach and exploring the beautiful city of San Diego with family and friends.
