Robert Wright, FASID, Co-Founder

Robert Wright, FASID, a co-founder of McCormick & Wright, retired in 2016. Currently living in Borrego Springs, California, Robert is a volunteer at the Borrego Art Institute (BAI) where he works in the gallery, assists with the art exhibition installations, and serves on the BAI board of directors. He enjoys participating in the arts community, desert living, and taking road trips throughout the Southwest. While his abundant professional accolades include being honored with the ASID Designer of Distinction Award, serving as National ASID President, and sitting on the CIDA Board of Directors, Robert is most proud of seeing the continued fine work and great success of his namesake design firm.   

Jan Bast, FASID, Co-Founder

Jan Bast was co-founder of Bast/Wright Interiors, now McCormick & Wright and retired from the firm in 2001 to focus on interior design education at the Design Institute of San Diego. Jan touched many lives in the interior design community. A champion to both educators and students, she saw the best in people and enjoyed mentoring those who crossed her path. Some of the highlights of her career and selfless dedication included her receiving the Council of Interior Design Qualification Tregre Award. Jan was accepted into the college of Fellows of the American Society of Interior Designers, the Society's highest honor. Jan also served as President of NCIDQ (National Council of Interior Design Qualification) and was the Design Institute BFA Program Director from 2000 to 2007. She was also a tireless volunteer for CIDA (Council for Interior Design Qualification). She served on the site visit team to review accreditation qualifications for over 10 years. Jan was one-of-a-kind and her legacy lives on with us.
